Mission Statement

Our Mission at the Assembly of God is very simple:

  • To do our part in God’s plan to evangelize the world.
  • To be a local body of believers united to worship God.
  • To be a people committed to an ever-growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Statement of Beliefs

More specifically to our Missions Statement, the Assembly of God Church has a Statement of Beliefs which consist of the following:

The Bible:

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man–the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

II Timothy 3:16-17;  I Thessalonians 2:13;  II Peter 1:20-21

The One True God:

God has revealed Himself as the eternal, self-existent Creator of the universe.  He is one Lord, yet three persons–God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  He is perfect and limitless in all His ways, and His love knows no bounds.

Isaiah 43: 10-11

The Lord Jesus Christ:

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.  He is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, and sinless in nature.  He died on a cross and was buried to pay the penalty for our sin and to reconcile us to God through His shed blood.  Jesus rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.  We look for His imminent return to earth to judge the living and the dead.

John 1:1-3;  Colosians 1:15-18, 2:8-10

The Fall of Man:

Man was created good and upright…for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”  However, by disobedience, man was separated from God through sin and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death.

Genesis 1:26-27;  2:17, 3:6;  Romans 5:12-19

The Salvation of Man:

Salvation is deliverance from both the spiritual death and the enslavement of sin.  God provides salvation for all who believe and receive His free offer of forgiveness found only in Christ Jesus.

 John 1:11-12, 3:16, 14:6; Acts 4:12

The Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit indwells all believers at the time of their salvation, helping and enabling them to lead Godly lives (Romans 8:9).  The baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experience separate from a person’s salvation.  This baptism was promised by the Father and is entitled to all who believe.  With it comes the endowment of power for life and ministry.

Acts 1:4-5, 1:8, 2:38-39

The Resurrection:

We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the unsaved.  The saved (those who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ) will be resurrected unto eternal life.  The unsaved to a resurrection of eternal judgment.

Revelation 20: 4-6, 11-15
